A 24-year-old man was killed and his friend injured after their motorcycle was hit by a speeding car in outer Delhi's Mongolpuri area, police said today.
The deceased has been identified as Amit who lived in Mongolpuri. He was returning back from Rani Bagh along with his friend Jonny last night when the tragedy struck, they said.
The accused car driver fled the spot after the incident, leaving behind his vehicle, said the officer.
The locals informed the police about the accident. A police team reached the spot and rushed the injured duo to a nearby hospital.
Amit succumbed to injuries during treatment, he said, adding Amit and Jonny used to work as drummers.
A case has been registered at Mongolpuri police station and efforts are being made to trace the driver through registration number of the vehicle, police added.
