The gunmen shot the motorcyclist Dipak Mohanty in the leg when he resisted and snatched the gold ornaments and cash from the pillion rider, on the Haldiapatana-Chotti village road, about 15 km from here, Inspector Niirai police station Manasi Patra said.
Mohanty was hospitalised.
