The city police arrested a movie artiste Abdul Rahman alias Baba, who was wanted in a case of attempt to murder.
Accused Abdul Rahman allegedly attacked one Mohammed Fayaz with a knife and caused multiple injuries to the latter on March 16, near Masab Tank here, the police said.
Rahman, who was staying as a tenant at the house of the victim's relative was having previous enmity with Fayaz regarding vacating the house and he had allegedly outraged the modesty of Fayaz's sister-in-law earlier, the police said, adding that later family members of Fayaz caused multiple injuries to Rahman for his indecent act.
A case and a counter case was registered against both parties at Banjara Hills police station.
"Since then both Fayaz and Abdul Rahman have developed grudge against each other. Rahman waited for an opportunity to kill Fayaz once and for all, and stabbed him on March 16," Deputy Commissioner of Police (West Zone) V Satyanarayana said.
During investigation, the accused was arrested today and the police seized the knife from his possession.
