Two youths were today killed after the motorbike they were riding on collided with a lorry carrying cattle in the district, police said.
After the collision at Simrol area an explosion occurred and in the ensuing fire 30 cattle from the lorry were charred to death, Sub Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Arun Kumar Mishra said.
The truck driver and cleaner fled away from the spot. According Prima facie, the animals were being taken to Maharashtra, the SDOP added.
A case has been registered in this regard, police said, adding investigations are underway.
