Leader of Opposition in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Ajay Singh today filed a complaint with the State Lokayukta, alleging that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan spent Rs 500 crore from the exchequer on publicity of himself and BJP.

"Chouhan has spent over Rs 500 crore of public money in the name of popularising government schemes," Ajay said in a statement here.

In the last two months, government advertisements were being issued frequently, he said, and termed it "a political conspiracy" against the Congress.

The focus of all these advertisements was Chouhan himself, he said.

The Congress leader also submitted a letter to the Lokayukta demanding action against 11 state ministers, including Laxmikant Sharma, Babulal Gaur, Ajay Bishnoi, Kailash Vijaywargiya, Jayant Mallaiya, Archana Chitnis and Paras Jain, against whom complaints have already been filed in various matters.
