MP alleges assault by Trinamool workers in West Bengal

Nominated member George Baker today alleged in the Lok Sabha that he was assaulted and his convoy vandalised in West Bengal by the workers of ruling Trinamool Congress recently.

Raising the issue during the Zero Hour, he said the incident took place during a procession.

Prem Singh Chandumajra (SAD) sought a debate on water crisis, saying it had affected Punjab severely.

Sugata Bose (Trinamool Congress) sought an "authoritative" statement from the government on the fate of 39 missing Indians in Iraq.

He referred to a media report which said Badush prison in Iraq's Mosul, where these Indians were seen last, was in ruins.
 

His party colleage Saugata Roy referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's aerial survey of the flood-affected Gujarat and the central package for the state and demanded that all flood-affected states be treated "on an equal footing".

Several districts in West Bengal have been hit by floods, said the member from the state.
