The monsoon session of Madhya Pradesh Assembly was today adjourned sine die amid noisy scenes as members of the ruling BJP sought a discussion on the imposition of Emergency in 1975, while the Congress opposed the demand.
Speaker Sitasharan Sharma adjourned the House four times during the day due to the ruckus. But as the uproar continued, he adjourned the Assembly sine die three days ahead of the schedule.
As the House convened for the day's sitting, state Legislative Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra said it was a "black day" when Emergency was imposed in the country in 1975.
He said a 'censure motion' should be passed against the move of the then government led by Indira Gandhi.
Mishra, along with other cabinet ministers and members of the treasury benches, also demanded a debate on the censure motion.

However, members of the opposition Congress stood up and opposed the demands of the ruling party.
Amid the melee, Congress members started shouting slogans against the BJP. The Congress legislators, led by senior party MLA Ramniwas Rawat, then trooped into the well of the House.
Speaker Sitasharan Sharma later expunged some remarks made by members of the ruling party and adjourned the House for 10 minutes.
When the House reassembled after 10 minutes, the situation remained unchanged as the ruling party members, led by Mishra, continued to demand a discussion on the Emergency.
To counter it, the Congress MLAs raised the issue of Mahatma Gandhi's assassination.
The speaker tried to pacify the members of the treasury benches and the opposition, but the legislators did not pay any heed to it.
Amid the ruckus, the House was again adjourned for half-an-hour.
When the House reassembled, the din continued as BJP MLA Neelam Mishra, supported by Congress MLAs, alleged that the Rewa district police were trying to frame up her and her family members in false cases, and sought security cover.
After that the speaker again adjourned the house till 1 pm.
When the session resumed, the ruckus continued and the House was again adjourned for 15 minutes.
Later, Congress members demanded that the no-trust motion moved by Leader of Opposition Ajay Singh and senior Congress MLA Ramniwas Rawat be accepted. However, the members of the ruling BJP opposed the move and sought the passage of a censure motion against the Emergency.
The Congress members then trooped into the Well of the House and raised slogans. Amid the din, the speaker transacted the listed business of the house and adjourned it sine die.
This was the last session of the current Assembly before the state polls scheduled in November this year.
