Amid rumours that Madhya Pradesh Governor Ram Naresh Yadav was not signing the file for notification declaring that Assembly session has been prorogued, Speaker Ishwardas Rohani today met to brief him about the developments which led to abrupt end of monsoon session.

Rohani told reporters that he told the Governor about the situation prevailing in the house on July 11, following which he had to adjourn the house sine die (indefinitely), and added that Yadav was "satisfied with the facts".

"The Governor is totally satisfied with the facts and there is no possibility of a special session," the Speaker said.

To a question Rohani said there was no constitutional crisis arising out of the adjournment.

After the Assembly was adjourned, Leader of Opposition Ajay Singh (Congress) petitioned the Governor terming the Speaker's decision as unconstitutional, since the debate on the no-confidence motion tabled by Congress had just begun.

Assembly witnessed a chaotic scene that day as Congress Legislature Party's Deputy Leader Choudhary Rakesh Singh opposed the no-confidence motion tabled by his own party. This was followed by adjournment sine die.
