A survey of various species of birds would be taken up next month in Madhya Pradesh's famous Kanha Tiger Reserve with the active participation of bird enthusiasts.

"Bird lovers can participate as volunteers in the survey, 'Bird Survey-2017' being conducted from March 17-20 at Kanha Tiger Reserve in association with the Bird Count India," a Public Relations Department official informed here today.

The Reserve's management has sought the active participation from the bird enthusiasts for this survey.

"The bird enthusiasts can apply through mail at kanhabirdsurvey@gmail.Com and fdkanha@rediffmail.Com till February 28 to express their willingness to work as volunteers," the official said.

He informed that the 'e-bird' technique will be used for clear and systematic data collection, adding that it will ensure a strong online database for the study of birds in future.

"The volunteers will only be allowed to conduct survey and no photography of birds will be permitted," he added.
