The Madhya Pradesh unit of the BJP Friday said it will look into former party MLA Surendra Nath Singh's statement allegedly made against Chief Minister Kamal Nath.
The party also said that it would take action in the matter, if it is necessary.
Talking to reporters here, state BJP chief Rakesh Singh said, "I have got the information about the arrest (of Surendra Nath Singh). We will look into the reasons as to why he was arrested and the party will take action if required."
During a protest held at Roshanpura area in Bhopal on Thursday, the former legislator had allegedly raised slogans - 'Hamari mange poori nahi hui toh khoon bahega sadko par' (if our demands are not met, blood will flow on the streets). When some of the protesters asked him "Whose blood?", he replied, "Kamal Nath's".
The protest led by Surendra Nath Singh was against the removal of street vendors from different parts of the city and inflated power bills being sent to the slum dwellers.
His remarks created a furore in the state Assembly earlier in the day, leading to two adjournments. The BJP leader was later arrested and released on bail by a court in Bhopal.
The state BJP president, however, evaded a question whether the party plans to take any disciplinary action against the leaders who had welcomed Indore MLA Akash Vijayvargiya after his release from jail last month.
Akash (34), son of BJP general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, was caught on camera assaulting an official of Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) with a cricket bat on June 26, during an argument over demolition of a dilapidated house in Ganji compound area.
Vijayvargiya was arrested on the same day and released on bail four days later.
