For the first time, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will hold the meeting of his cabinet away from the state capital, official sources said here today.

The meeting will be held on February 18 at Ujjaini, a village in Indore district, which is around 200 km from Bhopal.

"This is the first time the state cabinet will meet in a village outside Bhopal under the chairmanship of Chouhan. The idea behind holding the meet not in the state capital is to interact with people from other regions of the state and include them in the process of formulation of development schemes," officials said.

In Ujjaini village, the river Narmada has been linked with the Kshipra under the ambitious Narmada-Kshipra river linking scheme worth Rs 432 crore.

In the past, during her tenure as the state chief minister, Uma Bharti had held a cabinet meeting at Sidhi.
