"There is only one dream...Madhya Pradesh should not remain backward. There should be a progressive government in the state. This will only happen under the leadership of Bhuria," Scindia said during a meet-the-press here today.

When asked about the the role of former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh in the upcoming assembly polls, Scindia said, "Please ask him, not me."

Scindia criticised the ruling BJP in Madhya Pradesh. "The BJP government in the state has failed on all fronts. It could not keep its promises given to farmers and youths. Farmers are not getting even four hours of power supply, sufficient stock of fertilisers, proper subsidy. There are no new jobs created," he said.

"There is 29 per cent VAT on petrol in MP, which is 4 to 5 per cent on fertilisers," Scindia said adding the tax should be brought down to control inflation and soaring prices.

Slamming the BJP further, the Union Minister said, "There is a lot of difference between assurances and actually executing work."

However, Scindia also expressed "dissatisfaction" over the functioning of Madhya Pradesh Congress. "I am not happy with the Maheshwar assembly by-poll (results), in which, the BJP wrested the seat," he said.

He said that Congressmen should come out of their comfort zones and build grass-root level workers. "Congressmen should stay together with an aim to regain power in the state. In the present situation, the party needs energy and unity to take on future challenges, especially the 2013 assembly polls," he said.

"I am a committed and disciplined soldier of Congress, who believes in development and progress in the country, and I am not after any post," the Union Minister clarified.
