The driving license of those found guilty of drink and driving would be cancelled very soon, the Madhya Pradesh government today said.

"We are collecting data and would start the process of cancelling licenses within a month," transport minister Bhupendra Singh said here.

Singh said that the state was working on a plan to develop the bus stands on the lines of railway stations and airports through public-private-participation model.

The MP Inter-City Transport Authority was being constituted for providing good transport facilities, and efforts were on to provide night-time bus services in remote areas.

As certain routes, especially in the rural areas, did not have enough transport connectivity because of the low revenue potential, the government had planned to give subsidy to transport providers in these areas, he said.

The tax on air conditioned and luxury buses had been reduced to Rs 180 from Rs 230 per seat. Seats would be reserved for women in the public transport vehicles, he said.

Singh, also in charge of Information Technology, said that IT parks were being established in Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior, Chhindwara and Ujjain.
