The state recorded eight per cent excess rainfall by the end of August, but four districts received deficient rains, including Barwani (41 per cent), Umaria (35 per cent), Balaghat (25 per cent) and Dindori (22 per cent) sources said.
On an average, the state has received 806.7 mm of rainfall against the expected 749.2 mm from June to August, as per the Regional Meteorological Centre here.
East Madhya Pradesh with 20 districts received normal 833.3 mm of rains, against expected 831.8 mm, while western part of the state with 30 districts had about 15 per cent excess rains at 785.9 mm, as against the expected 684.6 mm.
Six districts received heavy-to-very heavy rainfall till August 31, with Harda getting an excess downpour of 64 per cent, Singrauli (58 pc excess), Betul (54 pc), Hoshangabad (45 pc), Bhopal 36 pc and Indore (7 pc).
The total rainfall expected during this rainy season starting from June 1 and till September 30 is 990 mm.
With downpour now subsiding, the upper air circulation system over the state was moving towards Rajasthan and during next 24 hours, few light showers are expected in some parts of the state, Met office said.
