The Madhya Pradesh government has announced Rs 50 lakh award for the Indian women's cricket team, which finished as runners-up in the Women's Cricket World Cup.
The Indian women's team lost by nine runs to England in a tense summit clash of the World Cup last night, finishing runners-up for the second time -- the previous being the 2005 edition.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced that the award will be given to the team at a grand ceremony here.
"MP Govt. Will felicitate @BCCIWomen World Cup team in a grand ceremony in Bhopal & award a prize of Rs. 50 lakhs," Chouhan tweeted.
