MP govt declares Samasgarh Shiv Mandir a protected monument

The entrance door, Lord Shiva's shrine, the top portion of the temple and several archaeological blocks are there in the Shiv temple, state Culture Minister Laxmikant Sharma said in a release here.

The idols in the temple reportedly date back to the 11th century AD, the release said. The temple is situated 15 km away from Bhopal, beyond Bhadbhada on the roads towards Sehore.

The minister has issued a notification to this effect and declaration of protected monument has been done under the provisions of Madhya Pradesh Ancient Monuments, Archaeological Sites and Remains Act 1964, the release added.
