MP govt expresses concern over SC order on restricting tourism

"If the need be, we will also approach the Supreme Court and try to see what steps can be taken to ensure that tourism is not affected in Madhya Pradesh," he told reporters here as he leaves for New Delhi.

Chouhan said tourism in Tiger Reserves has been affected due to the supreme court order, which also affected places like Pachmarhi where majority of tourist spots are situated in core areas.

The chief minister said he will also meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to urge the need to reduce fertiliser prices.

Chouhan is also slated to meet Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar in connection with his demand for reduction of fertiliser prices and to discuss the issue of fixing minimum support price for wheat, for the next season.

 

He will also meet Union Home Minister P Chidambaram to discuss the Naxal situation in the state and also call on the new President, Pranab Mukherjee.

"I will also extend an invitation to the President to come and visit Madhya Pradesh," Chouhan said.
