The New Transfer Policy 2012-13 received the cabinet nod at its meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
Under the new policy, transfer of state and district officials can be done between May 1 to June 15, official sources said.
The cabinet also decided to raise the remuneration to be paid to pluckers of Tendu leaves (used for rolling bidis) from Rs 650 to Rs 750 per standard bag.
For 2012-13, 23 lakh standards bags of tendu leaves are estimated to be collected while the pluckers will get the additional proceed of Rs 23 crore this year.
Tendu leaves in the state are being plucked through 1066 primary forest produce cooperative societies having nearly 31 lakh members.
The cabinet also decided to give exemption with retrospective effect on the tax payable on the entry fees collected from tourists in the protected areas (national Park and sanctuaries) in the state.
The above tax was collected under 'Madhya Pradesh Vilasita Vastu, Manoranjan, Amod Evam Vigyapan Kar Adhiniyam, 2011'.
It will benefit the cause of wildlife protection and also increase awareness among people towards conservation of wildlife.
The cabinet also took a number of other decisions including construction of Damoh-Katni road totalling 117.93 km under BOT scheme with an estimated cost of Rs 272 crore, apart from building bridges and culverts of all sizes under the 'Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Yojna', raising chief minister's discretionary fund for 2011-12 rpt 2011-12 from Rs 30 crore to Rs 37 crore.
The cabinet also sanctioned setting up a new private university, Techno-Global University, at Sironj in Vidisha district. PTI MAS NSK
