The Madhya Pradesh government is planning a 'Buddhist Circuit' to attract international tourists, state Tourism minister Surendra Singh Baghel said on Tuesday.

He said the world-famous Sanchi Stupa, among other places, will be part of the proposed circuit.

"A Buddhist Circuit would be developed in the state to attract international tourists practicing Buddhism," he said at a press conference here.

"The MP government is also thinking of organising a separate global investors' summit for the tourism sector to attract investment. This is likely to be held after the global investors summit scheduled for October this year," he added.

Baghel said the third edition of the 300-kilometre 'Explore Satpura' cycling safari will be held from August 23 to 25, and it will pass through Tawa, Madhai and Pachmarhi.

The aim is to not just incorporate cycles as a means of transport, but use it for a travel experience with active vacationing, Baghel said.

He claimed the state was the first to support this unique style of tourism, adding that international participants were expected for the event.
