MP govt to open IT park and EMC complexes at Bhopal, Jabalpur

The Madhya Pradesh government will be setting up IT Park and Electronic Manufacturing Clusters (EMC) at Bhopal and Jabalpur in a move aimed at generating direct and indirect employment for almost 60,000 people.

Union Minister for IT and Communication Ravi Shankar Prasad will lay the foundation stone for the project on October 6, an official release said today.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Science and Technology minister Bhupendra Singh will also attend the function.

While the IT Park and EMC in Bhopal will come up at Badwai on 212 acres of land, the complex in Jabalpur district will be set up on 62 acres of land at Purva village, the release added.
 

The Bhopal complex is expected to attract Rs 170 crore in investment and generate direct and indirect employment for 50,000 people while Rs 95 crore is expected to be spent on setting up the Jabalpur project, which is expected to provide direct and indirect employment to 10,000 people.

The project will be implemented in two phases with the State Electronic Development Corporation being the nodal agency for the same. The state government will provide infrastructure at both places.
