MP govt to provide free pathology tests in hospitals

The state Cabinet, at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan yesterday, approved free pathology tests with a view to make available more health facilities to the people, an official release said here today.

The Cabinet has also sanctioned special medical allowance for doctors in the state, the release said.

As many as 48 different pathology tests will be available in district hospitals, 13 in primary health centres, five at sub-health centres, 26 at community health centres and there would be facility for 32 tests at civil hospitals.

Also, Rs 2,000-5,000 per month medical service allowance will be given to all doctors and specialists of the Health & Family Welfare Department according to their pay scale, with retrospective effect from August 26, 2008.

 

In compliance with the order dated May 23, 2009, recovery of excess salary payment will not be made from retirement benefits of the doctors having retired or died during service period.

About 4,000 doctors will benefit from this decision and for motivating them, the amount of medical service allowance will be given to them as per their pay scales and grade pay, the release added.
