The Madhya Pradesh High Court dismissed a petition filed by an organisation seeking direction to the Jabalpur district administration over delay in deciding on their application for permission to stage a demonstration on February 7 against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

A single bench of Justice Vishal Dhagat on Friday dismissed Indian Muslim League's petition as it had become infructuous since the date of the proposed protest- February 7 had already passed, Deputy Advocate General Praveen Dubey said on Saturday.

The outfit had sought permission from the Jabalpur district authorities to hold a demonstration in a ground in Mandi Madar Tekhri, Dubey said.
