The Madhya Pradesh High Court today directed Rewa police to trace a 60-year-old woman, who was kidnapped from her village in May, and produce her before it.

The direction was given by a single-judge bench of Justice R S Jha.

The petition was filed by Arjun Patel stating that his mother Ramrati left for her maternal home in Kailashpur under Hanuman police station along with her granddaughters on May 28.

Later, a car arrived at the bus stop where they were waiting. The car driver promised that he will drop them at Kailashpur.

After some distance, the driver stopped the car at an eatery and left the two little girls there and kidnapped Arjun's mother, the complaint said.

Arjun then approached the police but no action was taken, after which he filed a petition in the high court, his advocate Bhupendra Shukla said.

The complainant had also approached Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Home Minister Babulal Gaur, but his mother is still untraceable, he said.
