Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched the scheme in Gwalior last month and the Indore district administration has also sent a proposal to the state government in this regard, official sources said today.
According to the 2011 Census, the sex ratio in Madhya Pradesh stands at 892 girls per 1,000 boys.
A total of 307 sonography machines were registered in Indore district and a proposal worth over Rs 96.87 lakh has been forwarded to the government to install active tracking devices in these machines.
The administration can monitor the activities of these centres the moment USG (ultrasonography) machines are switched on, as the GPS enabled device starts transmitting necessary information, including video recording, sources said.
This will help a lot in curbing illegal practices being carried out at these centres, they added.
