Madhya Pradesh Food and Civil Supplies Minister Vijay Shah today conducted a surprise check at a petrol refilling station in the Sanawad area here and seized 72,000 litres of white kerosene, allegedly used to adulterate the fuel.
"Based on a complaint, I reached the petrol refilling station situated on the Khandwa road at Sanawad area and seized 72,000 litres of white kerosene (available in the open market) kept in containers and four tankers (without registration numbers).
"I had received a complaint that fuel (petrol and diesel) sold by the petrol pump was adulterated with blue kerosene (which is sold to people below poverty line at a cheap price via fair price shops) and chemicals," Shah, who also happens to be district guardian minister told reporters at the spot.
