A former personal assistant with Madhya Pradesh Mining and Energy minister Rajendra Shukla has been arrested by Lokayukta police for taking bribe from a taxi operator.

The Lokayukta laid a trap to apprehend Shrotiya following a complaint made by taxi operator Vijay Yadav that the assistant used to demand Rs 50,000 each month to clear the log book for use of taxi by the minister's office.

According to police, he had taken Rs 2,000 in lieu of signing the logbook of the taxi attached to the minister.

Shukla however said he has nothing to do with Shrotiya who was his PA in the earlier term.
