MP: Nine dead, eight injured in truck-jeep collision

Nine persons were killed and eight injured today when the jeep they were travelling in collided with a truck near Susner town, about 75 km from here, police said.

The deceased were identified as Girilal (40), Kailash Goswami (40), Atal Goswami (43), Bhupendra (24), Sanjay Panchal (32), Anshul Goswami (13) and Bhagchand Suman (55), police said.

Seven persons died on the spot, police said, while two unidentified victims died at a local hospital, where they were taken for medical treatment.

The victims were on their way to Mahidpur in Ujjain district from Baran town in Rajasthan.

The injured persons were admitted to hospitals at Susner and Jhalawar.
 

Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Laxmi Gamad said ex-gratia of Rs 50,000 will be paid to the kin of those killed and Rs 25,000 to the injured persons.
