"Foreign investment in grocery cannot be accepted leaving our people jobless. It will not be implemented in Madhya Pradesh, "Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said in a statement.
Chouhan made it clear that he was not opposed to FDI and added that it should be made in infrastructure sector.
"Livelihood of lakhs of families in the country depends on grocery and small business. Therefore, foreign investment in grocery will increase unemployment and put lakhs of families under great financial difficulties," he said.
