Metal band 'Elemental' will represent India at the two-day prestigious music festival 'Wacken Open Air' in Germany beginning August 3.

Wacken is a small village in Schleswig-Holstein, northern Germany.

"Elemental is going to perform in the festival cum competition in Germany where 120 countries are going to fight for top five awards," Elemental singer and team leader Anchal Bhargava said.

In the four-member band, beside Anchal, it has drummer Divyaraj Bhatnagar, guitarist Aman Sharma, bass guitarist Shashi Bhushan.

He said the festival will see an audience of five lakh music enthusiasts.

"We got the opportunity to represent India in Germany by virtue of winning Wacken National Band Finals on July 8 in Bengaluru. We use Sanskrit in our lyrics to put our culture on the world map," he said.

Bhargava, however, said they are facing financial constraints to take part in the international music extravaganza and said that they would be happy to receive any sort of assistance from the state government.

Five prizes are given at the competition and no Asian country has won any of them yet, Bhargava claimed.
