MP: Six girls drown in two districts

Six girls drowned in separate incidents in Hoshangabad and Raisen districts of Madhya Pradesh while taking dip on the occasion of Rishi Panchami today, police said.

In the first mishap, four girls of a family drowned in river Narmada at Bandua village in Hoshangabad district, they said, adding the deceased have been identified as Bipasha (12), Supriya (10), Sakshi (7) and Mamata (5).

In another incident at Umarkhed village in Raisen district, two girls drowned in a pond while taking bath.

They were identified as Bharti Lodhi (12) and Varsha Kushwaha (10), police said.
