Madhya Pradesh government will extend all possible help to restore power infrastructure in Cyclone Hudhud-hit Andhra Pradesh.

The decision in this regard was taken by state Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan after the Union Power Ministry and Andhra Pradesh government requested the state on the issue, an official release said today.

In a letter to Madhya Pradesh Energy Secretary I C P Keshari, the Andhra Pradesh government said that because of Hudhud, the power distribution and transmission network was severely damaged.

AP requested the Madhya Pradesh government to provide 1,100 distribution transformers of 100 KVA capacity and 550 of 63 KVA, besides 2,000 technical experts.

Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company Limited's Managing Director Manu Shrivastava informed that on the directives of the state government, the two power companies - Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company and Poorvi Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company - will immediately send 500 transformers of 100 KVA each and also 800 technical hands to Andhra Pradesh.
