MP top bureaucrat briefs cops on LS polls

Madhya Pradesh Principal Secretary, Home, R.K. Swai today asked senior police officers to work towards ensuring better arrangements for free, fair and peaceful general elections in the state.

Swai was addressing Lok Sabha election-related training session of IGs, DIGs, SPs and ASPs at RCVP Academy of Administration here.

He also asked the police officers to pay attention to impartiality and alertness during the polls.

"Attention should be paid at the time of seizing of illegal firearms so that innocent people are not inconvenienced and at the same time police should maintain its high standards of security," Swai said.

DGP Nandan Dube said the seizure of illegal arms, narcotics and inspection of vehicles should be undertaken during the course of polls with the efficiency exercised during 2013 Assembly elections in the state.
 

Impartiality of police should be visible, when police officers visit field, they should train staff upto constable level so that Lok Sabha elections can be conducted in even better manner, Dube said.
