MP United FC and RCF, Kapoorthala win league matches

Madhya Pradesh United Football Club and Railway Coach Factory, Kapoorthala won their respective league matches in the second All India Jananayak Karpoori Thakur Football Tournament played here at the Moin-ul-Haque stadium today.

Striker Avinash Kale and Chotu Chera scored one apiece to help Madhya Pradesh United Football Club beat Indian Air Force 2-0 while the RCF, Kapoorthala defeated Southern Samittee, Kolkata 2-1.

RCF Kapoorthala went into the lead in the 28th minute while Gurpreet Singh finding the target from a 30-yard long ranger.

Their lead, however, was shortlived as Shyam Kumar of the Kolkata outfit scored the equaliser 13 minutes later converting a Rakesh Baperi cross.
 

After the break, both the teams played aggressively resulting in back-to-back forays in each other's citadel.

However, none managed converting the chances. While Southern Samittee Tapan Dutta, Nigerian star Abey and Musa of Southern Samittee missed chances, Balraj Singh, S Kumar of the RFC failed to convert a couple of open opportunities.

But in the 56th minute, RFC's Sukhbinder Singh converted a penalty to help his side earning full points.
