A Madhya Pradesh minister was Saturday unable to read out Chief Minister Kamal Nath's message during a Republic Day function organised here and had to ask the district collector to do the needful.

A video of the incident is being widely circulated on social media platforms.

The video shows MP Women and Child Development Minister Imarti Devi (43) starting to read out Nath's message in broken Hindi.

In the video, the minister is then seen giving the page to Gwalior Collector Bharat Yadav and telling the gathering that "collector saheb padenge (collector will read it)".

She then stood behind as Yadav read out Nath's address to the gathering.

Later, speaking to the media, the minister said she was unwell for the past two days and this was causing her difficulty in reading.

The minister, in her affidavit submitted for the 2018 MP Assembly poll, had stated that she had cleared her Higher Secondary Examination in 2009 through open school.

She is an MLA from Dabra constituency in Gwalior district.
