"Thakre was moving around as a staunch supporter of Chavan and was saying that the chief minister won't be replaced. However, at the same time, he was inciting 42 legislators (against Chavan)," an editorial in Sena mouthpiece 'Saamana' said here.
"Thakre's whole gambit was that even if Chavan was not replaced due to NCP's insistence, the letter by the 42 legislators should do the trick. However, it did not materialise," it said.
Chavan wasn't replaced by Thakre. The calamity that was to befall Maharashtra did not happen, it said.
However, Thakre's position is now endangered and in the coming days, he will experience what can happen in politics, the editorial said.
