The ruling Mizoram Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) and its junior partner the Mizoram People's Conference (MPC) today announced their candidates for the coming election to the 19-seat Aizawl Municipal Corporation (AMC) to be held on November 26.
The Congress would contest 13 seats and the MPC would contest 5 seats while Ward number 17 was declared as a free zone where it would be a 'friendly contest' between the pre-poll partners.
Opposition Mizo National Front, which was going alone and set to contest all the AMC seats had announced the names of its candidates yesterday.
The Zoram Nationalist Party (ZNP) and the BJP combine under the banner of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) was yet to announce its candidates for the civic polls even as the last date of filing nominations is on Friday next.
