MPs sent 11 grievances daily this year: MoS Personnel

At least 11 letters on an average were received every day from Members of Parliament (MP) and very important persons (VIPs) by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Union Minister Jitendra Singh said on Thursday.

According to the Central Secretariat Manual of Office Procedure,each communication received from a MP or VIP shall be acknowledged within 15 days, followed by a reply within next 15 days of acknowledgment sent.

The number of communications received from members of public by the office of Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions is around 2,300 from January 1, 2016 to July 15, 2016, he said in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha.
 

All such communications were forwarded to officer in charge of different departments under the charge of the Minister of State for appropriate action, he said.

"It is expected that action on all those 2,300 communications have been taken in the departments concerned based on their internal instructions," said Singh, Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.
