Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain today asked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to announce a clear line of action against the Taliban and its umbrella outfits after three polio workers and a councilor of his party were killed in Pakistan's port city of Karachi.

"In the last 72 hours countless of innocent people have been killed by the Taliban and its umbrella terrorist organizations in different parts of the country," Hussain said in a statement issued here.

"Time is ticking away and if no action is taken, the Taliban might also seize control of parts of the country and will force people to swear allegiance to them," he warned and said the prime minister should announce a clear cut policy.

While three polio workers, including two females, were shot dead in Qayyumabad earlier in the day, the MQM councilor was killed in a bomb attack on his car last night.

Earlier, a leader of the Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat, Maulana Zarin, was also fired upon in Landhi but he miraculously escaped unhurt.
