MS University to confer honorary degree on Naik, Sanghvi

Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU) here has decided to confer honorary doctorate degree on noted business leaders A M Naik and Dilip Sanghvi.

The decision was taken by the 67-year-old varsity's Senate at its annual meeting held here today.

Naik is Chairman and Managing Director of L&T Group, a diversified conglomerate, while Sanghvi is Founder of Sun Pharmaceuticals, a top drugmaker.

MSU Vice-Chancellor Parimal Vyas had yesterday said Naik and Sanghvi have already given their consent to receive the degree.

Shubhangini Devi Raje Gaekwad, Chancellor of MSU, who presided over the meeting, gave details of future plans of the university.

Speaking on the occasion, Vyas thanked the Gujarat government for allocating a sum of Rs 15 crore for building and upgrading infrastructure facilities at the varsity.
