MSEDCL engineer arrested by Maha ACB for demanding bribe

An executive engineer of the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company was today arrested for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe, ACB officials said.

Engineer Dileep Agrawal (57) had demanded Rs 5,000 from a person who wanted an electric pole shifted, said an Anti-Corruption Bureau official.

"The man filed a complaint with the ACB and Agrawal was arrested from Kalyan in Thane district today during a trap laid by us," the ACB official said.

A case was registered against him under relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act, the official added.
