MSEDCL imposes Rs 2.65 lakh penalty on city doctor

Maharashtra Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has imposed a fine of Rs 2.65 lakh on a local medical practitioner after electricity meter of his nursing home was found tampered with during raid today, a senior official said.

"A MSEDCL flying squad raided neonatal nursing home of Dr Khan in the morning and found that his power meter has been tampered with using a remote control so as to avoid reading during peak hour," said Executive Engineer Archana Ghodeshwar.

The MSEDCL has slapped a fine of Rs 2,65,000 on Khan and a police complaint will soon be lodged in this connection, she said.
