A vigilance officer of state-run power firm MSEDCL has been caught while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) said today.

Jitendra Chandrakant Misal, Deputy Vigilance Officer posted at MSEDCL circle office in Nashik Road, was trapped by the agency's sleuths last night at a hotel in adjoining Nandurbar district, an ACB release said here.

The trap was laid on the basis of a complaint lodged by a man who had filed power theft cases at Shahada in Nandurbar district last year.

Misal had demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 from the complainant for making changes in the assessment report submitted by latter, the release added.
