A portal was launched today to enable micro and small enterprises to file their delayed payment related grievances online.

Through the Micro and Small Enterprises Facilitation Council (MSEFC) portal launched by Union minister Venkaiah Naidu here, the grievance filed would be communicated through email and SMS to the parties involved.

As on March 31, 3,690 cases involving an amount of Rs 1,660 crore are being considered by various the MSEFCs.

The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Councils have been set up to mediate in disputes related to payments between a buyer and a supplier of goods and services.

The portal would also help officers of the MSME ministry as well as the state government concerned in monitoring the progress of cases at state and national levels.

"The portal would facilitate implementation of the delayed payment provisions of the MSMED Act 2006 and also assist in monitoring of delayed payment cases," MSME minister Kalraj Mishra said.

"In fact, the online portal would be of great help to start-ups since delayed payment is probably the single biggest problem for start-ups," he added.

Besides, a MyMSME mobile app was also launched by Naidu, which provides information on all schemes implemented by the Ministry of MSME at one place. The mobile app will provide a single window to MSMEs to access information on all schemes implemented by the MSME Ministry and apply for any of them. MSMEs can also lodge grievances pertaining to the Ministry of MSME through this app.
