The MSME Ministry today signed an agreement with International Labour Organization (ILO) here, aimed at creating more jobs and giving fillip to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Make in India' campaign.
"The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) agreement will form the basis for a technical partnership with the primary objective of creating more and better quality employment in India.
"Its activities will be focused around three priority areas; entrepreneurship development, good workplace practices for improving productivity and enhancing integration into global supply chains, and research and knowledge-building related to sustainable enterprises and formalisation strategies," the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Ministry said.
The pact is initially for a 5-year period and will support the government's 'Make in India' programme, aimed at transforming India into a global manufacturing hub, the ministry added.
