West Bengal cabinet today decided to merge MSME department with the Industries department of the state government.
"Today in the cabinet meeting it was decided that MSME will be merged with the industry department of the state for better functioning and administrative efficiency," a senior minister of the state government said after the meeting.
The state government had in December last year merged 21 government departments to form 10 new ones.
The cabinet had passed the proposal to merge the directorate of sericulture that was under the MSME department with state agriculture department.
