The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation's Nashik division will soon get six AC sleeper coach buses to provide luxurious and comfortable travel experience to passengers, a senior official has said.

Of the six new AC coach buses, three will be utilised for running from Nashik to Mount Abu, a popular hill station in Rajasthan, by December while they are also thinking of starting one bus to Kolhapur, MSRTC's Divisional Controller Yamini Joshi told reporters here yesterday.

The destinations of the remaining buses were yet to be decided, she said.

She also said that the MSRTC bus stands will be modernised as busports, on the lines of airports, to provide good and quality services to the passengers.

Soon 'pay and park' facilities will also be made available at the MSRTC's old and new central bus stands and at Mahamarg bus stand for the passengers, Joshi said.

The MSRTC had earlier started its bus services to different destinations and received good response from people, she said adding that Nashik division earned a profit of Rs 11.6 crore between October 24 and November 3 (Diwali festival).

The MSRTC buses ran 36.88 lakh kms on various destinations in the said duration, she added.
