City-based Maharaja Sayajirao University today announced to offer a post-graduate diploma course in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) from this academic year (2014-2015).
"Objectives of the PG diploma in CSR are to equip the students with skills to develop competence for effective field interventions, research and management of CSR," Professor Jagdish Solanki, Coordinator of Human Resource Management of MSU, said.
The Companies Bill 2012 makes it mandatory for all the companies having a net worth of Rs 500 crore or more or with a turnover of Rs 1,000 crore during any financial year, to spend two per cent of average net profit on corporate social responsibility, whereby companies incorporate social and environmental concerns in their business operations and interactions with their stakeholders.
Entrance test for the course will be conducted on August 2.
