MTDC inks MoU with Etihad, Jet Airways to promote tourism

Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) today said it has signed an agreement with Etihad and Jet Airways to attract more visitors to the state and to leverage on the airline's expanding international network.

Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) there will be number of joint marketing activities like in-flight magazine

promotion, website promotion as well as advertising and digital campaigns to promote Maharashtra as a leisure destination, MTDC said in a release issued here.

Both the aviation groups would also provide information to its users on less-explored but high potential destinations in Maharashtra, it added.

"We welcome this opportunity to strengthen our cooperation with Etihad and Jet Aviation Group. This MoU is the beginning of a strategic partnership with two of the leading and most important international airlines to attract international tourists. Our aim is to jointly put in place the strategies to increase Maharashtra's marketing footprint as the most preferred destination," Maharashtra Tourism Minister Jaykumar Rawal said.
 

Maharashtra Principal Secretary, Tourism and Culture, Valsa Nair Singh said this is a landmark agreement that will support Maharashtra Tourism's global campaigns and marketing activities, as well as some of the industry's most important trade and business events.

"This unique and important partnership between Maharashtra Tourism, Etihad and Jet Airways will boost the state's image exponentially," she added.
