The Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) has issued a tender to conduct a survey for the state to understand tourist behaviour and choices.
"Maharashtra attracts maximum tourists from across the globe and from India as well. And we see the trend in tourism sector constantly changing. It is very important for us to keep a tab on movements happing in the industry," MTDC Managing Director Paraag Jain Nainuttia was quoted as saying in a statement.
He said understanding a visitor's choice and expenditure pattern will give an overview and insight of the trend in tourism, which will help MTDC strategise various campaigns, products and marketing to ensure growth in the tourism sector.

"We are looking forward to agencies who can help us with exhaustive information on tourism statistics for Maharashtra," he added.
The final date for the submission of the tender is September 16.
