Two months after a 13-year-old boy was burnt alive, Muslim leader Mufti-e-Punjab Irtakar ul Hassan, expressing grief and sorrow, demanded bringing to book the perpetrators of the crime.

Addressing reporters at PWD Rest House at Malerkotla today, he said Muslims are ready extend every help to police and the family to sort out the murder of Vidhu Jain.

Vidhu Jain, a student of seventh class, was found with 90 per cent burn injuries, after he was allegedly abducted by some unknown persons on September 30 at Malerkotla.

"Muslims of Malerkotla condemn the gruesome murder. Entire community in Punjab is feeling hurt," he said.

He demanded that the accused be punished so that nobody would dare to do such a barbaric act in the future and disturb communal amity and brotherhood.

Meanwhile, residents of Malerkotla organised a candle-light march late in the evening through the town demanding immediate arrest of the accused of blind murder under tight security arrangements.
